NDF - Financing for climate change and development projects

EOI consulting and technical assistance to microfinance institutions

Invitation for Expression of Interest for consultancies and technical assistance services to microfinance institutions in Latin America

In 2012, the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a member of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, in partnership with the Nordic Development Fund (NDF), launched a $7 million USD Program called EcoMicro to expand green finance for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and low income households in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The goal of this four-year Program is to increase access to renewable energy and energy efficient products for MSMEs and low income households, and to assist them in financing adaptation to climate change.

The Program aims to do so by working directly with microfinance institutions (MFIs) - the main financial providers of MSMEs and low income populations – to increase their green finance offerings. The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) is now seeking Expressions of Interest for the provision of consultancy services and technical assistance to microfinance institutions.
