The new Host Country Agreement between the Government of Finland and NDF has been approved by the Finnish Parliament and accepted by the President of the Republic of Finland and has entered into force on 11 May 2014. The agreement was signed 15 October 2013.

As international organizations such as NDF do not fall under any national legislation, a number of matters of both principal and practical nature are settled by an agreement between the organization and the host country. The document regulates the relations between the Government of Finland and NDF and is one of NDF’s constituent documents.

The renewed agreement strengthens NDF’s status as an international organization and includes also provisions on inter alia immunities and privileges as well as provisions on the staff’s social security coverage.
