Nordic Climate Facility to launch new call for proposals

Nordic Climate Facility, an NDF-financed challenge fund for innovative climate change projects, will launch a new call for proposals on 28 August 2017.

The seventh call for proposals of the Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) will be open from 28 August to 29 September 2017. The theme of this year’s call is Climate as Business—Testing innovative green business concepts. The call focuses on testing innovative climate-related business ideas that have the potential to become commercially viable.

Nordic companies or organisations are encouraged to apply for funding if they want to test a business concept that contributes to increased climate resilience, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and generates positive development impacts in low-income countries, such as job creation and gender equality. To be eligible for funding, the proposed project must be a partnership between a Nordic and a local organisation in one of the 21 NCF-eligible countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. NCF can provide co-financing between EUR 250,000 and 500,000.

NCF is a challenge fund for innovative climate change projects, financed by NDF. Since 2009, six calls for proposals have been organised with over 70 projects implemented across three continents.

Online applications can be submitted from 28 August 2017. More information about the NCF application process can be found on the NCF website, where previous projects are also published.
