Strong interest in the Second Call of the NCF
The Second Call for Proposals to the Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) closed on Friday 14 January 2011.
The proposals kept arriving right untill closing time at noon, Helsinki time, Friday 14 January. This time approximately 180 applications were received as compared to 138 applications in the first call for proposals the year before. The applications will now be screened and short-listed by the NCF team. In late February the short-listed applicants will be invited to submit their full proposals.
The Nordic Climate Facility, which is funded by the Nordic Development Fund and jointly administered with the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO), provides grant financing for climate related projects in low-income countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Financing can be granted to Nordic institutions, organizations, companies, and authorities which have established cooperation with a partner in low-income countries. The second call focuses on renewable energy and urban adaptation to climate change.
