Women participating in an NCF project in Nepal have said that the project has helped strengthen their roles within their communities.

Heavy rainfall in January and February this year led to extensive flooding in Malawi. UN reports that 1.1 million people are affected, almost 300 people died or are still missing, and 230,000 people presently live in temporary shelters.

Through the Nordic Climate Facility, NDF has together with the Finnish Red Cross financed a disaster preparedness and early warning system project in Malawi from 2012-14.

Photovoltaic solar panels to be installed on the roofs of a company in San Pedro Sula, Honduras

Nordic Climate Facility's fifth call well received by Nordic organisations

The fifth call for proposals of the Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) under the theme 'climate resilience in urban and private sector contexts' was closed on 30 January.

The main responsibility of the Procurement Specialist is to provide quality assurance in procurement processes carried out with financing from NDF and continuously review and improve procurement policies, guidelines and tools.

Norad invites to adaptation seminar and book launch

A publication on climate change adaptation and development released

The book is a result of a two-year project to strengthen the social aspects in adaptation research and approaches. The project is led by Fridtjof Nansen Institute in Norway.

The UN climate award is an important recognition for NDF and the MIF.

The EcoMicro program, funded together by the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) of the Inter-American Development Bank and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF), was announced as a winner of the Momentum for Change UN climate award on 25 November.


The Nordic Development Fund was one of the 14 development financiers who jointly launched the Geothermal Development Facility (GDF) for Latin America yesterday at COP 20.
