Key stakeholders reviewed the Nordic Partnership Initiative Pilot Progamme for Supporting Up-scaled Climate Change Mitigation Action in Vietnam’s Cement Sector, also called the Cement NAMA (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action) project, in March 2015.

A Nordic delegation visited Vietnam in March 2015 to review progress of the Nordic Partnership Initiative Pilot Programme for Supporting Up-scaled Climate Change Mitigation Action in Vietnam’s Cement Sector.

NDF has approved a EUR 2.25 million grant for climate resilient rural water supply and sanitation in Zambia

NDF and the African Development Bank will co-finance the second phase of the National Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Programme in Western Province, Zambia.

Women participating in an NCF project in Nepal have said that the project has helped strengthen their roles within their communities.

During a joint site visit, NDF and NEFCO acquainted themselves with three different community forest user groups in the Nawalparasi and Chitwan districts in Nepal.

Heavy rainfall in January and February this year led to extensive flooding in Malawi. UN reports that 1.1 million people are affected, almost 300 people died or are still missing, and 230,000 people presently live in temporary shelters.

Through the Nordic Climate Facility, NDF has together with the Finnish Red Cross financed a disaster preparedness and early warning system project in Malawi from 2012-14.

Photovoltaic solar panels to be installed on the roofs of a company in San Pedro Sula, Honduras

A USD 5 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will enable Corporación Industrial del Norte, SA (Corinsa), to install photovoltaic solar panels on the roofs of its bottling plant buildings in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
