NDF continues to raise general awareness on integrity issues

NDF is committed to working proactively to prevent fraud and corruption in its operations, and the co-operation with other IFI’s within this area has been intensified in recent years.


The new Host Country Agreement between the Government of Finland and NDF has been approved by the Finnish Parliament and accepted by the President of the Republic of Finland and has entered into force on 11 May 2014. The agreement was signed 15 October 2013.

As international organizations such as NDF do not fall under any national legislation, a number of matters of both principal and practical nature are settled by an agreement between the organization and the host country.


NDF visited the Secretariats of the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of ministers to exchange views on how NDF is being active in the area of promoting climate change related issues in developing countries.

The SLoCaT Partnership on Sustainable Transport is a global multi-stakeholder partnership of over 80 organizations that promotes sustainability in the transport sector.

The Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) provides grant financing to encourage and promote technological innovations in areas susceptible to climate change in low-income countries.


The Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) team has reviewed the 94 pre-qualification applications received for the fourth call for proposals and 26 applicants have been shortlisted.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present a full proposal. The final applications shall be submitted to NCF by early May. The detailed guidelines and templates have been provided to the shortlisted applicants.

The significance of NDF and IDB Group collaboration is highlighted in the new partnership report.

NDF-IDB collaboration goes back to 1991 and at present NDF works with all institutions in the IDB Group which is composed of the Inter-American Development Bank, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) and the Multilateral Investment Fund

NDF hosted an event where Ellis Juan from the Inter-American Development Bank discussed the Emerging and Sustainable Cities Initiative (ESCI) in Latin America with Nordic experts on development and climate finance.

Latin America is undergoing rapid urbanization and in 2014 more than 80% of the population are living in cities. This development trend creates tremendous challenges on individual cities.


The Asian Development Bank (ADB) invites members of the climate and development community to participate in a web chat on gender and climate finance at 8:30pm on 25 March in North America EST (-5 GMT) / 12:30am on 26 March GMT / 8:30am on 26 March in Manila.

NDF is co-financing a project titled Gender and Climate Finance in the Mekong region with ADB. According to its strategy NDF supports projects that address gender equality and climate change.
