NDF - Financing for climate change and development projects

Projects: Africa

The project promotes transfer of knowledge and skill on the sustainable management of water resources through cost-effective climate-proofed water storage and conservation strategies.
The aim of the project is to reduce Tanzania’s vulnerability to climate change by identifying potential coastal climate impacts, and identifying priority adaptation investments to enhance resilience.
The objective of the proposed NDF adaptation component is to develop the capacity of relevant stakeholders in Senegal to climate-proof road infrastructure planning, design and maintenance.
The NDF intervention, constituting a part of the Energy for Rural Transformation Project, aims at increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy technologies in rural Uganda.
The project aims at mitigation of climate change through reduced demand for peak time electricity generated in fossil fuel plants, by creating a market for solar water heaters in Rwanda
The project will strengthen the climate change profile of the UESP II by reducing emissions from landfills, increasing renewable energy use and financial sustainability of waste management operations, and improving the living conditions of the urban poor.
The NDF contribution shall strengthen the climate change aspects of the PEPAM project, which aims at increasing access to sustainable water and sanitation services.
The World Bank financed PROGEDE II aims to increase the availability of diversified household fuels in a sustainable and gender equitable way, and to contribute to increase the income of participating communities while preserving the forest ecosystems
