The overall objectives of the consulting services are to accomplish all steps required for preparing a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) project for the railway sector in Bangladesh and registering it with UNFCCC and, thereafter, conduct the first round of measuring, reporting and verification (MRV) activities required for the NAMA. In addition, the capacity of the Bangladesh Railways (BR) must be built so that it is able to continue monitoring activities on their own as required for NAMAs.
