The Ministry of Rural Development in Cambodia now invites interested consultants to express their interests in providing for Consulting Services for Climate Change Adaptation Framework Design and Implementation.

The Ministry of Rural Development in Cambodia now invites interested consultants to express their interests in providing for Consulting Services for Climate Change Adaptation Framework Design and Implementation.

This consultancy is under the Rural Roads Improvement Project II (RRIP II) in Cambodia, which will improve 39 roads about 729 km located in nine provinces including improvement of 50 km of island roads and 11 jetties in five Mekong River Islands. Part of the RRIP II includes designing and implementing a climate change adaptation framework, for five Mekong River islands in Kampong Cham province.

The consultants will be responsible for design and implementation of i) income diversification for climate resilience, ii) improving water access and reducing vulnerability of agriculture to climate change, iii) income through renewable energy, iv) improved health and safety during climate extremes and v) inclusive-growth strategy for rural roads. The consulting services are expected to commence in September 2015. The consulting services require 28 person-month inputs of international experts and 66 person-month inputs of national experts over a period of 20 months.
